SG#51 Operations Listings |
| |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The later Gatewatch Reports are as accurate as the records allow. However, there have been cases where either formally unknown times/targets have been resolved during the operation itself, or rarely, the times have shifted. In such cases the supplimentary reports have not always survived, therefore if you have up-to-date data related to specific Gate openings, please pass this on to Gatewatch via Brigadier General A. R. Courtney's office.
The roster data includes, where known, the names of the operation's senior officers (S1-S5 & CMO), individual mission members, their commanders, 2IC and 3IC, and when appropriate the appointed Drill Instructors and their assistants at EIC training. Indications of casualties, fatalities, and missing personnel is also given, along with listings of significant awards.
New Greenham Common which was established during the 1960's, was crucial because of the fact that for up to about 12 hours, every 2-4 months, there were as many as 50 inbound and outbound conections to it at XC105A, making the planet ideal for the first and only major off-world colony. The base had over 73 two storey buildings, plus a runway, heli-pad, hangers, workshops etc. Crewed by over 1,000 personnel, it served as a hub for exploration, both on and off-planet. It provided air support to several corporate and government organisations operating from 6 "satelite" camps (Alpha-Foxtrot), anything up to 500km away. For 6-8 days prior to the beginning of a Gate Cycle, high output UHF voice communications was achievable. On the 20th October 1996, all contact with the base was lost. A SAR mission was prepared and launched upon the first available opportunity, circa 23:00hrs on the 26th October 1999. The base was found abbandoned and stripped of all movables. Apart from the base C/O, protected by a handful of USMC "Colonial" security troops and a detachment from Camp Alpha, no friendlies were found at that time. Considerable hostile contact was, however encountered. The former missing crew had been heavily contaminated by ABC and "turned". This led to a period of protracted conflict principly upon XC057A-D and XC105A over the following two years. The "A" Gate on XC105 was believed destroyed by the base's self-destruct system during Operation Wakefield (CON-16) on November 22nd 1998. Thus severing all conection with that planet until 2005 when a "C" Gate appeared in the system for the first time. The "B" Gate was destroyed by hostile action immediately prior to Operation Malden (CON-13) May 1998.
XC057A aka Abridge, was a similar facility to New Greenham Common, but only a tenth the size. Conflict at this base was intense until regular contact was lost after March 1999, after which conections have been only sporadic.
*Please note that to date, Gates remain open for circa two minutes commencing at the specified time. Also, flight times can vary from as little as a few seconds, through to several hours. Both these statements only apply in normal circumstances.

You are amemberof a multi-discipline squad, drawn from a number of different companies, corporations and other organisations concerned with Base 78 (Ed. Vostok Base, Antarctica). Mutual Advancement Agreements have been drawn up and signed to the effects that all personnel involved in this operation will work towards the completion of the primary mission which is under the direct control of the Phillips Corp. team commander, any corporate activities are to be treated as secondary to the successful completion of the primary mission objective.
It has been six months since our forces were last on the ground at Base 105 Alpha (Ed. CON-13 Operation Malden May 1998), during that operation the total destruction of it's sister camp Base 105 Bravo was witnessed. This is thought to have been the result of sabotage by hostile forces.
A transport aircraft (Ed. C130) was over flying Base C105 Alpha when the EM pulse and residual shock wave from the 10 Mega ton explosion hit. The transporter broke up in flight scattering its cargo of research equipment (Ed. and materials) over a wide area. This equipment and the research to which it applies is extremely valuable to the continued operation of Base 78 and must not be allowed to fall into the hands of hostile forces.
Each container on board the transport was fitted with a strobe light transponder, these will be activated as you are inserted, so as to assist with your recovery of the items.
Due to our extended absence, we fully expect the hostile forces to have control of the area. As such you will be operating in a 'hot' environment, expect snipers and other hostile activity. Articles from the manifest that have been removed from their drop zone may well have been tampered with or booby trapped, if you suspect any such tampering call on a demolitions operative for their' opinion before taking any action. Full tactical operation is advised.
The whole squad will be inserted from Base 78, via a outbound "Star Gate" the "Jump Point" from which will manifest at Grid 750 005 within the boundaries of Base 105 Alpha. (ED. Launch and Landing Times missing)
Extraction will be by outbound "Jump Point" from Base 105 Alpha at Grid 900 020 and is forecast to occur at 2253hrs (Ed. the actual departure time was advanced by the SG Team, using the Nakamura Corporation's Inducer technology, as the base's 10MT self-destruct was set to detonate prior to the stated Gate opening time).
Please note that Base 78 operatives laid mines and booby trapped the extraction location during the previous mission. In order to neutralise a clearance team is being deployed with the squad.
The squad emergency rendezvous point is at Grid 835 050 (building 122).

NB: The operation coincided with an Expert Infantry Course being run at the same venue. The issued Gatewatch report reads as follows:
Coinciding with your operation “ CONTACT 41”, we have identified 19 unexpected Gate activations at this time. They are all for the 28/02/2003-01/03/2003 period, and many remain unresolved times/targets and many are new this year. This is in line with recent months observations, the Gate system is exhibiting some not before seen behaviour. Gatewatch 52/54/55 are all reporting similar unscheduled signal spikes and like ours many are unresolved or new times/targets. There is no data from Star Gate 53 (France) for comparison. We will keep you apprised.
Special Note: this is the last Gatewatch Report that gives Gate activations which have partially unresolved signals, for either time or target. Details of Gates:

This is consistent with recent observations, as the Gate system is continuing to exhibit untypical behaviour, as per CONTACT’S 39-45, with rough and unpredictable flight experiences for crews expected.

20 BPU |
They are all for the period 17/09/04 (11:28)-19/09/04 (21:47). The majority of these signals remain at this time unresolved (times/target), and it is expected that due to the poor signal strength, they will remain as such, although this volume of traffic is extremely unusual.
17 of the “time” unresolved signals are ALL from C105, but are from several gates: 105C, 105D, 105E and 105F of which only 105C has ever come up before (gates A and B* having been destroyed pre OCS). These must be gates that are elsewhere on “C105 Greenham Common” and were never discovered during its occupation.
*Note that the "B" Gate was not on the SG#51 line.
Only 4 are actually viable. All of which are to known destinations with the exception of 1, however they are targets that have not come up on STARGATE 51’s normal range, so are unknown here.
This behaviour remains “consistent” within the parameters of recent observations, as the gate system is continuing to exhibit untypical behaviour, as per CONTACT’S 39-47, with rough and unpredictable flight experiences for crews expected.
Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present cycle, all reporting similarly increased activity plus hundreds of unresolved signal spikes. There is still no data from Stargate-53 for comparison at this time, as the French report that their base remains off-line, but are confident that normal operations will be resumed early in the new year. We will keep you apprised.
As of 09/09/2004 STARGATE 55 has ceased operating, no further data is expected, other than archived material (presuming that this has not also been lost).

Issued @ 16:00hrs on 26/11/2004
All the current activations are for the period 25/11/04 (14:36)-29/11/04 (15:53). All of the early and later signals remain at this time unresolved (times/target), and it is expected that due to the poor signal strength, they will remain as such. Only 13 of these 23 gates are actually viable. All of which are to known destinations, however 1 is a target that has not come up on STARGATE 51’s normal range, so is unknown here, a situation almost identical to CON-49.
This behaviour remains “consistent” within the parameters of recent observations, as the gate system is continuing to exhibit untypical behaviour, as per CONTACT’S 39-49, with rough and unpredictable flight experiences for crews expected as before. Great caution and firm flight discipline is essential to prevent injuries or loss of personnel or equipment during this operation. Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present cycle, all reporting similarly decreased activity with few resolved signal spikes. There is still no data from Stargate-53 for comparison at this time, as the French report that their base remains off-line, but are confident that normal operations will be resumed towards the middle of next year. STAR GATE 55 along with all archived material and the majority of the personnel at the REGION-55 Base where it was housed, are as most of you know, lost due to the use of the base’s self destruct system, in response to a “Foothold” situation. It is unknown how many REGION-55 survivors are actually currently stranded off world, with the exception of those listed as MIA (see issue 50 of the MIA listings). Caution is recommended when dealing with such personnel, due to possible long duration exposure to ABC. No further data is expected, and the PRC is currently reassessing its contribution to the CONTACT program. We will keep you apprised.

PVT. BAILEY A. |
Consistent with the continuing apparent erratic behaviour of the Gate, we have detected a series of signal spikes, somewhat more in advance than has to date been possible. We are expecting that on the day the strength will be very high. Quite what this will mean for the Gate, the base and any potential flight crews is at this time unknown.
The potential activations are for the period 05/03/05 (circa 09:00-19:00).
All of the signals remain at this time unresolved in terms of their precise times, however the destination is quite clear:
| Target |
|---|
| X C 0 6 0 A |
This behaviour remains “consistent” within the parameters of recent observations, as the Gate system is continuing to exhibit untypical behaviour, as per CONTACT’S 39-50, with rough and unpredictable flight experiences for crews expected as before. Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are, in advance of the next cycle for CON-52, all reporting similarly increased advanced activity, but unlike ours, with few resolved signal spikes. There is still no data from Star Gate-53 for comparison at this time, as the French report that their base remains off-line.

These activations cover the period 02/03/05 (03:31)-08/03/05 (01:42). Only 10 of these Gates are actually viable. All of which are to known destinations.
This behaviour remains “consistent” within the parameters of recent observations, as the gate system is continuing to exhibit untypical behaviour, as per CONTACT’s 39-50, with extremely rough and unpredictable flight experiences for crews expected as before. Great caution and firm flight discipline is essential to prevent injuries or loss of personnel or equipment during this operation. Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present cycle, all reporting similarly increased activity with very few useful, yet strongly resolved signal spikes. There is still no data from Stargate-53 for comparison at this time.
It is still unknown how many REGION-55 survivors are actually currently stranded off world, with the exception of those listed as MIA (see the forthcoming Issue 52 of the MIA listings). Caution is recommended when dealing with such personnel, due to inevitable long duration exposure to ABC. No further data is expected, and the PRC is currently in negociations with Japan and Russia re its future contribution to the CONTACT program. We will keep you apprised.
Post operation revision of usable Gates (March 7 2005). Gate activations #7 and #10 flight times increased from 2 to 15 minutes. Two additional "inbound" activations detected #8 and #9. NB: VXC075A (G-1454) and VXC075B (G-1455) were in the printed hand-outs incorrectly prefixed with "VP".

These activations cover the period 19/05/05 (12:17)-23/05/05 (08:15). Only 25 of these Gates are actually viable. All of which are to known destinations with the exception of two, which have been designated as Pathfinder missions.
As with recent operational cycles, extremely rough and unpredictable flight experiences for crews are expected, due to the very strong natures of the signal spikes. Caution is especially recommended in respect to those Gates connected to UP818A, which are displaying a never before seen trait, that is the Flight Times are not consistent. What this will mean for any crew attempting a jump is unknown. As before great caution and firm flight discipline is essential to prevent injuries, damage or loss of personnel and or equipment during this operation.
Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present operational cycle, all reporting a similar level of activity, with very few useful, yet incredibly strong well resolved signal spikes. There is still no data from Stargate-53 for comparison at this time.
The PRC's negociations with Japan and Russia re its future contribution to the CONTACT program broke down earlier this month, but have since recommenced with the assistance of representatives from the USA. We will keep you apprised as the situation develops.

These activations cover the period 07/10/05 (21:29)-10/10/05 (00:44). Of these only 29 are actually viable, falling during 07/10--09/10. All of which have been designated as Pathfinder missions, with the exception of one (VP888A).
During CON-52 & CON-53 US and Russian crews suffered a number of serious casualties due to extremely rough and unpredictable in-flight experiences. There is every reason to expect similar conditions during CON-55, due to the high frequency and very strong amplitude of the Gate's signal spikes. Great caution is especially recommended in respect to those Gates connected to UP818A, which are displaying an only once before seen trait (CON-53), that is the outbound and inbound Flight Times are not consistent. Upon the last ocasion this seemed to have little if any effect upon crews executing jumps, however this may not be so during CON-55.
The French government has, for the moment, suspended all attempts at re-activating BASE-53, and are instead despatching personnel to either the UK, USA or Russian fasilities to continue their service under these Commands.
During CON-53 there was a 17% increase in the mass of ABC extracted from off-world combat equipment (NBC suits, respirator filters etc). Although this currently remains within the safety limitations, a precautionary upgrade has been undertaken at all bases to maximise protection for all personnel. However, if a similar increase is detected during CON-55, this would exceed even the upgrades capability. As such data can only be procured post operationally it has been decided that CON-55 will conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full inspection/decontamination of each operational fasility.. If the results are positive, as a precaution CON-56 will be subject to Extreme ABC Protection Protocols (normally only used when the Gate Room detectors register dangerous levels of ABC in the atmosphere). Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided at that time.
It still remains unknown how many REGION-55 (SG#55/People's Republic of China) survivors are actually currently stranded off world, with the exception of those listed as MIA (see the last Issue No.50 of the MIA listings). Extreme caution is recommended when dealing with such personnel, due to inevitable long duration exposure to ABC (09/09/04). No further data is expected from the PRC's UNSGC elements at this time.
The PRC's negociations with Japan and Russia re its future contribution to the CONTACT program continue. The PRC are considering the French solution, so we may have Chinese and Japanese personnel asigned to RGHQ-51 at some point in the future. We will keep you apprised as the situation develops.

Issued @ 16:00hrs on 25/11/2005
The effective activations for CON-56 cover the period 25/11/05 (23:56)-27/11/05 (13:53). Of these only 25 are actually viable. All of which have been designated as Pathfinder missions, with the exception of two (VXC057A aka "The Abridge Complex").
During CON-55, UK, US and Russian crews suffered a number of serious casualties due to extremely rough and unpredictable in-flight experiences. There is every reason to expect similar conditions during CON-56, due to the high frequency and very strong amplitude of the Gate's signal spikes. The Gates are continuing to display variable Flight Times, as seen at CON-53 and CON-55, that is the outbound and inbound Flight Times do not match. Previously this seemed to have little if any effect upon crews executing jumps, however this may not be so during CON-56.
The French government has, for the moment, suspended all attempts at re-activating BASE-53, and are instead despatching personnel to either the UK, USA or Russian fasilities to continue their service under these Commands.
No further data is expected from the PRC's UNSGC elements at this time. The PRC's negociations with Japan and Russia re its future contribution to the CONTACT program continues. However, in the meantime the PRC are following the French lead, in that their surviving personnel are being asigned abroad, so far only to SITE-54 in the Russian Federation at this time. We will keep you apprised as the situation develops.
Following on from CON-53 where there was a 17% increase in the mass of ABC extracted from off-world combat equipment (NBC suits, respirator filters etc), there has been a further increase to an agrigate total of +35% . Although this currently remains within the safety limitations, post the precautionary upgrade undertaken at all bases prior to CON-55. However, as a precaution CON-56 will be subject to Extreme ABC Protection Protocols (normally only used when the Gate Room detectors register dangerous levels of ABC in the atmosphere). Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided at that time. Thus it will be necesary for all exteria gear to be removed for decontamination to ensure personnel safety. If a similar increase is detected during CON-56, this would exceed even the upgrades capability. As such data can only be procured post operationally it has been decided that CON-56 will conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each operational fasility, as per CON-55. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.

For the first time Marksmanship Trials were carried out, in the so-called "killing tunnel". This is the base's 100 yard long subterainian entrance. Although generally a success, there were technical problems, the consequences of which, were that no meaningful results were achieved. However, it is proposed to evaluate the trials, and restage them later in the year.
Finally, the results of the deliberations of the Promotions Board, were posted, and the granting of decorations, medals and awards for service in 2005 were resolved. As some who have been granted such awards were present at the conferences, they were then notified in person.

Issued @ 14:00hrs on 03/24/2006
2. Co-inciding with EIC#11 scheduled for 03/24-26/2006, now re- designated as "Operation Dunbar", the new system has provisionally identified the formation of 3 plus signal spikes for usable out and inbound wormholes circa 00:00hrs +/- 1 hour, on 03/24-5/2006. As yet no targets have been identified, but the signals are exhibiting high amplitude. Accurate target/time resolutions will only be possible on the 24th. This low number of Gates at this point in the year seems to be consistent with some sort of a wave pattern when the available past records are examined. A possible relationship with sun spot activity has been suggested by previous RGHQ-51 staff in the past. However the increasing amplitude, which as our staff here at Gatewatch recalls began to rise significantly from CON-39 in late 2002 onwards, remains an aberrant feature. The records show:
*This period corresponds to Sun Spot Maximum. We are currently approaching Sun Spot Minimum.
MESSAGE ENDS
The 17 activations for CON-58 cover the period 03/24/2006 (21:32)-03/25/2006 (01:43). Of these only 6 are viable. All of which have been designated as Pathfinder missions.
During CON-56, UK, US and Russian crews suffered a number of serious casualties due to extremely rough and unpredictable in-flight experiences. There is every reason to expect similar conditions during CON-58, due to the high frequency and very strong amplitude of the Gate's signal spikes. As before great caution and firm flight discipline is essential to prevent injuries, damage or loss of personnel and or equipment during this short operation.
Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present operational cycle, all reporting similar levels of activity, with very few useful, yet incredibly strong well resolved signal spikes.
As during CON-56 the agrigate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment has now reach 52% above pre-CON-52 levels, CON-58 will be subject to Extreme ABC Protection Protocols. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Thus it will be necesary for all exteria gear to be removed for decontamination to ensure personnel safety. CON-58 will like CON-56 conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational fasilities. We at GATEWATCH apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.

Issued @ 13:00hrs on 08/04/2006
The new Gatewatch monitoring system has identified the formation of 19 signal spikes for usable inbound and outbound wormholes during CON-60. All signals are exhibiting extremely high amplitude, which we inturpret as representing high risk flight conditions for our crews. This comparatively low number of Gates is in part but not entirely due to improvements in signal resolution. However we are of the opinion that traffic on the SG#51 system has actually decreased since 2005. We stand by our observations and comments detailed in our report for CON-58.
The 19 activations for CON-60 cover the period 08/04/2006 (22:31) - 08/06/2006 (13:03). Only 2 have been designated as associated to a Pathfinder missions, Gates #18 & #19, those to and from G-356 on 08/06/2006. Of the remaining 17, the first 8 stand out for comment. All are going to G-1452 aka VP459A, but are spread out in such a way as to enable a 12 hour mission to be undertaken. We have been fortunate to be able to match the signals for the other 9 Gates to known planetary targets, see the entry under Notesin the table below for further details.
As per CON-58, wherein UK, US and Russian crews suffered a number of serious casualties due to extremely rough in-flight experiences, we believe that there is no reason to expect anything other than similar conditions during CON-60, due to the high frequency and very strong amplitude of the Gate's signal spikes. As before great caution and firm flight discipline is essential to prevent injuries, damage or loss of personnel and or equipment during this unique operation.
Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present operational cycle, all reporting similar levels of activity, with very few useful, yet incredibly strong well resolved signal spikes.
During CON-58 the agrigate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment reach 63% above pre-CON-52 levels, CON-60 will be subject to Extreme ABC Protection Protocols. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Thus it will be necesary for all exteria gear to be removed for decontamination to ensure personnel safety. CON-60 will like CON-58 conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational fasilities. We at GATEWATCH apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.

Gatewatch report the formation of a total of only 14 usable inbound and outbound wormholes during CON-61. All signals are exhibiting extremely high amplitude, which we inturpret as representing high risk flight conditions for our crews. This comparatively low number of Gates is in part but not entirely due to improvements in signal resolution. However we are of the opinion that traffic on the SG#51 system is continuing to decrease in line with our report for CON-60.
The 14 activations for CON-61 cover the period 09/29/2006 (22:45) - 10/01/2006 (13:08). Six of these activations have been designated as Pathfinder missions, Gates #5 & #6, plus #11through #14. We recommend great caution in regard to #3 & #4 to VXC213B last visited during CON-43.1. C213 was also accessible via SG#55 via a "C" Gate, position unknown.
As per CON-60, wherein US and Russian crews suffered a number of serious casualties due to extremely rough in-flight experiences, we believe that there is no reason to expect anything other than similar conditions during CON-61, due to the very strong amplitude of the Gate's signal spikes. As before great caution and firm flight discipline is essential to prevent injuries, damage or loss of personnel and or equipment during this operation.
Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 are in the present operational cycle, all reporting similar levels of activity, with very few useful, yet incredibly strong well resolved signal spikes. These signals have also enabled us at this time to identify the actual flight operation dates through to the end of 2007. Consequentially the conference and EIC dates for 2008, have also been planned as flight operations will typically commence around May/June of /2008.
During CON-60 the agrigate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment reach +79% above pre-CON-52 levels, which is an increase of +16% over CON-60. Therefore CON-61 will be subject to Extreme ABC Protection Protocols. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Thus it will be necesary for all exteria gear to be removed for decontamination to ensure personnal safety - NO EXCEPTIONS! CON-61 will like CON-60 conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational fasilities. We at GATEWATCH apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.
Please also see the GATEWATCH Report "SG51 Gate Identification Chart", for more information on the data recovered from CON-60.

Gatewatch reports that until 17:55Z their were a total of only 9 usable inbound and outbound wormholes for CON-62. However at that time, the entire Gate system became erratic, with extremely large amplitudes and a huge number of signals. The Gatewatch system has suffered some minor EMP damage, however we can report that the system is now operational. Since, that time the Gate system has been almost silent. At the time of our report we are detecting 3 wormholes forming. We calculate maturity for c.21:00Z 11/18/2006 for all signals, see below. Likewise we estimate the target as C105 as we are getting several varying target locks. If they do not stabalise by that time, no flights will be possible. We will keep you apprised verbally.
Gatewatch 50, 52 and 54 were in the present operational cycle, all reporting similar levels of activity, with very few useful, yet incredibly strong unresolved signal spikes. At 17:55Z their systems suffered a similar malfunction. However, SG#50 is reporting a complete shut down of their system. Whereas SG#52 is reporting just one upcoming signal which corresponds to their Gate link to C105 (18km) from G0002 of the SG#51 spline.
During CON-61 the agrigate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment reached +91% above pre-CON-52 levels, which is an increase of +12% over CON-61. Therefore CON-62 will be subject to Extreme ABC Protection Protocols. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Thus it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination to ensure personal safety - NO EXCEPTIONS! CON-62 will like CON-61 conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at GATEWATCH apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.

The Gatewatch system reports that as at 15:30Z their were a total of only 15 usable inbound and outbound wormholes for CON-65, as specified below. There are no unresolved signal spikes at this time. All these spikes are at never before seen energy levels (4x). The Gravity Wave detector is for the first time actually picking up signals. This means that the Gate is "leaking" gravity in the area of the Gate Tower. Presuming flights are launched, we can not reasonably estimate what the conditions for crews within the wormhole will be like, however "G" suits have been procured to aid in reducing the risks of black outs in flight. Please be aware these are standard USAF and RAF issue Anti-G suits which are only rated to 9G (the max for fast jet aircrews).
Due to the high EMP damage suffered by SG#50 (USA) last November, there will be no flights from that Gate. Likewise SG#52 (USA) is reporting only 2 unresolved signal spikes, which currently means no missions are planned for that Gate at present. SG#54 (RF) however, advise that they are preparing missions to go to a similarly low number of target planets as per ours. This means that the recovery of CLEGG-621 will be down to either us or the Russians, depending upon whoever finds them first (assuming anyone does).
During CON-62 the aggregate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment reached +108% above pre-CON-52 levels, which is an increase of +17% over those of CON-61. As almost 7 months has elapsed since this the last flight operation, the precautionary principal dictates that CON-65 will be subject to the Extreme ABC Protection Protocol, as levels could be dangerously high. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Thus it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination to ensure personal and collective safety - WITHOUT EXCEPTION! CON-65 will like CON-62 conclude with a mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at Gatewatch apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.

Updated 08/07/2007
The former contractual disputes that had contributed to previous delays in repairs have now been resolved. Please note that Tiger Industries personnel no longer have access to RGHQ-51, and that the SSI and Phillips Corp. consortium have taken over the work. As SSI are the prime contractors for the XAD1471 system their staff have absolute authority during the installation phase on Floor 1 of RGHQ-51. With the exception of the related missions, the Gate Tower is for the duration of this operation strictly off limits to ALL UNMC personnel.
Note also that due to these circumstances only a basic flight service is available for your missions during CON-66. Flight crews MUST take extra special care in the Gate Tower as many systems remain exposed (6kv) for on-going repairs and the installation work. It is not practical to shut these sub-systems down, as they constitute essential components of the XAD1471 and the Gatewatch systems.
Gatewatch reports that as at 15:00Z their were a total of 21 usable inbound and outbound wormholes for CON-66, however only 5 of these, as specified below are relevant to UNMC Flight Crews. FYI this is an increase of 6 activations over the 15 of CON-65, and there are no unresolved signal spikes at this time. All spikes are at similar extreme energy levels (4x) as per CON-65. The Gravity Wave detector is for the second time actually picking up signals, which means that the Gate is "leaking" gravity in the area of the Gate Tower. Thus as per CON-65 we can not garuntee crew safety within the wormhole. Likewise as per CON-65 "G" suits have been procured to aid in reducing the risks of black outs in flight. Please be aware these are standard USAF and RAF issue Anti-G suits which are only rated to 9G (the max for fast jet aircrews). Note that any personnel who fail their medical will automatically lose Flight Status for the duration of CON-66, so as to avoid unnecessary casualties. Be aware that during CON-65 the Russian Regiment suffered 6 KIA and 2 WIA due to exsessive G forces (2 broken necks and 4 blunt trauma deaths, plus 2 surviving Marines with broken backs.
During CON-65 the aggregate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment achieved a total of +197% over the pre-CON-52 levels (100%), which is an increase of +89% over those of CON-62. Even though almost 7 months had elapsed since this the last flight operation of 2006, this shows that the trend is continuing upward. The total M1 ABC level now stands at 297%, that is, it has trippled since CON-52 Operation Bannockburn 03/4-6/2005. See the ABC Saturation Report by Captain Kira Lewis (RGHQ-51).
Consequencially the precautionary principal dictates that CON-66 will be subject to the Extreme ABC Protection Protocol, as levels are expected to be dangerously high off world. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Note that it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination immediately upon return, to ensure personal and collective safety post flight - WITHOUT EXCEPTION! CON-66 will like CON-65 before it conclude with a 10 day mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at Gatewatch apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.
Special Alerts: 1. Post CON-065 Operation Hatfield Chase, DSTL have advised that as a result of their analysis of enemy ammunition found embedded in the clothing and equipment worn by First Lieutenant Sackville-West who was wounded in action at the close of Mission 4, immediately prior to egris, that the enemy ambush team were using the older and less lethal MKVI rounds. This accounted for their reduced effectiveness, and the higher than expected survivability of personnel who sustained wounds during that mission. It is possible that this represents the balance of old stocks. However, at the same time Russian and US personnel operating from SITE-54 sustained casualties wounded with exclusively MkVII ammunition. It is therefore probable that any future casualties sustained by our Regiment during all future operations will be hit with the more lethal ammunition.
2. As of 07/17/2007 both US bases (AREA-50 & -52) suffered catostrophic computer failures, due to a never before seen virus. They will remain off-line for the foreseeable future, leaving only the UK and the Russian Federation currently operational. For the duration AREA-52 personnel will be operating from SITE-54 in the Russian Federation, until as such time as either SG#50 or -52 are once again operational. The CLEGG program has been suspended, and caution is advised if approached off-world by the outstanding teams -651 and -652. These personnel should be recovered and returned to AREA-50 ASAP. The Authentication code for these teams is "BOSTON", and they comprise:
|
CLEGG-651:
1LT Ryan O'Connor Jr. SSGT Rodrigo Alverez. SGT Peter Bronski SPEC Dr. Janet Merryweather |
CLEGG-652
MAJ Susana Bench MSGT David Powell SSGT Erin Speak CPL Ralph Ammundsen |
Neither flight will be designated as a Pathfinder mission, as the planet upon which G-0799 is located has already been thoroughly cleared as a safe landing zone with regard to it's environment. The Pathfinder mission was conducted by US personnel on 08/21/1999 during CON-021 when the planet was designated as VP068. Since CON-056 when the first portable Gravitometers were deployed, VP068 has been the subject of intense study and observation, as it is the "mid-gate" for all current and formally operational Star Gates, that is: SG#'s -50, -51, -52 and -54, which is why it was chosen for Project Midguard. This project is the establishment of the first post Ox-Eye colony. The new colony will be under US control (AREA-52). The precise location of the proposed main base, aka "Midguard" is classified. The reason for the delay in establishment, has been three fold:
Five Gates, including G-0799, have been identified as sites for defensive Patrol Bases (PB), each designated with your regimental number, thus the UK PB is PB51, it's codename to be chosen by the regiment before 09/29/2007 when PB51 is scheduled for activation (the proposed name as of 08/05/2007 is "BIFROST"). Upon establishment, the other PB codenames and associated necessary data will be released.
Your mission to G-0799 will provide the SSI staff with the data to program the SG#51 XAD1471, after which the initial flight will be undertaken by an SSI civilian engineering team with Executive Resources' Close Protection Officers (ER-CPO) providing security, who will transport the second XAD1471. Upon arrival the machine will be assembled and programmed for the return flight, which must occur before the end of the present cycle otherwise they will be trapped on VP068 until September. Upon the successfull return of the SSI team a UNMC Engineer Company will be despatched to dig out the main defences of PB51, returning before the end of CON-066, as the ABC level is considered to be too high for extended missions with only respirators and NBC suits for protection. At the beginning of CON-67 on 09/28/2007, the Engineers will be once again dispatched to complete their work. ASAP Marines from the 51st Regiment will be tasked to take up station at PB51 during the period of each future cycle, subject to the tactical situation. The PB's will only be manned during the period of maximum threat, that is during the period of a Gate cycle, 1-3 days every 2-6 months. Stranded personnel will be considered as MIA and probably hostile, and treated accordingly at the time of the next operation. Every effort will be made to recover personnel assigned to serve at a PB before the end of their duty period. Because of the associated risks, PB service will at the present time be voluntary, subject to the strategic situation.

As SSI Inc. is the prime contractor for the XAD1471 system their staff have absolute authority during the on-going work on Floor 1 of RGHQ-51. With the exception of the related missions, the Gate Tower is for the duration of this operation strictly off limits to ALL UNMC personnel. Note that with the exception of flights using the XAD1471, only a basic flight service is available for your missions during CON-67. Flight crews MUST take extra special care in the Gate Tower as many systems remain exposed (6kv) for on-going repairs and the installation work. It is not practical to shut these sub-systems down, as they constitute essential components of the XAD1471 and the Gatewatch systems. We can not emphasise this enough, two SSI engineers were fatally injured earlier this month due to their negligence.
During CON-66 the aggregate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment achieved a total of +208% over the pre-CON-52 levels (100%), which is an increase of +11% over those of CON-65. The total M1 ABC level now stands at 307%, that is in excess of tripple the volume detected prior to CON-52 Operation Bannockburn 03/4-6/2005. For the first time recovered levels of the M2 type of ABC has also increased by a factor of ×2 over the pre CON-66 levels, thus exceeding the 1% figure of total ABC. See the ABC Saturation Report by Captain Kira Lewis (RGHQ-51).
Consequencially the precautionary principal dictates that CON-67 will be subject to the Extreme ABC Protection Protocol, as levels are expected to be dangerously high off world. Additional NBC suits and filters will be provided. Note that it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination immediately upon return, to ensure personal and collective safety post flight - WITHOUT EXCEPTION! Room 208 has been specially adapted for this purpose. CON-67 will like CON-66 before it conclude with a 10 day mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at Gatewatch apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.
As stated in our previous report (CON-65) the CLEGG program has been suspended, and caution is advised if approached off-world by the members of the outstanding team -652. These personnel should be recovered and returned to AREA-52 ASAP. Their Authentication code is "BOSTON", and the details of the team members are shown in the Missing In Action listings document.
2. In the light of #1 above, and the various debriefs post CON-066 Operation Ellandun, the report by DSTL regarding ammunition found embedded in the clothing and equipment worn by First Lieutenant Sackville -West who was wounded in action at the close of Mission 4 of CON-65 Operation Hatfield Chase (06/16/2007), can be viewed in a very different light. The use of the less lethal MKVI rounds by the enemy ambush party, while at the same time Russian and US personnel operating from SITE-54 who sustained casualties wounded with exclusively MkVII ammunition, would appear to have been part of a deliberate plan to ensure the delivery of the disk in to the hands of the UNSGC.
As with CON-66, it is safe to assume that any future casualties sustained by our Regiment during all future operations will be hit with the more lethal MkVII ammunition.
Following the successfull return of the SSI team, the 51st UNMC Engineer Company was despatched to dig out the main defences of FORT BIFROST, being scheduled for return before the end of CON-066, as the ABC level was considered to be too high for extended missions with only respirators and NBC suits for protection. However at the close of the CON-65 cycle the unit had failed to return, and consequentially they have been declared as MIA . See the MIA list document for details.
The intelligence gathered by several CLEGG teams who monitored the planet over many years for enemy activity, having reported non, must be considered as suspect, both in the light of recent events at AREA-50 and the contact with CLEGG-651 made during your mission. It was noted that this CLEGG team carried HE signalling devices, that would have required sophisticated on-world manufacturing, as such materials are rendered inert by passing through a Star Gate. Therefore, it is reasonable to presume that the enemy have some kind of base on VP068, location to be determined. The enemys apparent absence is probably a combination of both the compromise of the CLEGG program, and their low profile in the presence of other regular recon units on what is a planet of strategic importance.
In addition to the strategic objectives established by the current situation, namely, Project Midguard, and the on going issues arising from Fort Apache (VXC105), the recovery of the missing UNMC Engineers and CLEGG-652 for enterogation is raised to a high priority objective.
2. Note that Gates #6-8 connect to G-0002 aka VXC105C, and that initially all flights to and from this planet were suspended following CON-65, however as of CON-67, all S3's may authorise Combat missions at their unit's own discretion, subject to future UNSGCHQ oversight.
3. Note that the inbound Gate activation #11 from G-0737 has been shown in this table, as the option for a T1 activation is available. If the S3 approves a mission, then a request for POW transfer to DSTL should be made well in advance of the proposed launch time.

We can not emphasise this enough, a third SSI engineer was fatally injured last week due to their negligence.
During CON-67 the aggregate total of ABC recovered from off-world equipment achieved a total of +217% over the pre-CON-52 levels (100%), which is an increase of +9% over those of CON-66. The total M1 ABC level now stands at 316%, that is in excess of tripple the volume detected prior to CON-52 Operation Bannockburn 03/4-6/2005. For only the second time the recovered levels of the M2 type of ABC has also increased by a factor of ×3 over the pre CON-66 levels, which is an increase of 50% over CON-67. See the ABC Saturation Report by Captain Kira Lewis (RGHQ-51).
Consequencially the precautionary principal dictates that CON-68 will be subject to the EXTREME ABC Protection Protocol, as levels are expected to be dangerously high off world. A new and improved NBC suit and filter system will be issued. Note that it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination immediately upon return, to ensure personal and collective safety post flight - WITHOUT EXCEPTION! Room 208 has been specially adapted for this purpose. CON-68 will like CON-67 before it conclude with a 10 day mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at Gatewatch apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.
2. The US CLEGG ("CONTACT Long Endurance Gate Group") program remains suspended, and caution is advised if approached off-world by the members of the outstanding team -652. These personnel should be recovered and returned to AREA-52 ASAP. Their Authentication code is "BOSTON", and the details of the team members are specified in the current Missing In Action listings document. In addition to the strategic objectives established by the current situation, namely, Project Midguard, and the on going issues arising from Fort Apache (VXC105), the recovery of the missing UNMC Engineers and CLEGG-652 for enterogation is a high priority objective.
3. At 15:14Z today, an incoming off-world comunications signal from survivors of the 51st UNMC Engineer Company was received requesting that the XAD1471 be activated for a return flight and the defensive iris opened. Post varification, MAJ Atherton O/C in lieu of LTC Collinwood who went MIA during the outbound flight, was unaware that they had experienced a tempral delay in their journey to C068W. Upon initial arrival they were unable to establish communications with RGHQ-51, and therefore proceded with their mission. Being completed, they successfully established comunications with RGHQ-51 to make a flight request as per SOP. It was eventually decided to retreive the unit with a XAD1471 Forced Gate Activation at 17:00. They landed at 17:31 and have been despatched to DSTL for analysis. NB: 23 members including the C/O were lost on the outbound flight and 4 more on the return. These 27 remain listed as MIA as of today. The unit's default Authentication Code is "ANGEL".
NB: be aware that due to their reduced personnel the dug-out defences of FORT BIFROST although essentially complete, are necessarily of a very basic nature.
4. During the specified times (see chart) of CON-68, the SSI Inc. engineers can, upon receipt of a written authorisation from the Operations Officer, program the XAD1471 system for a launch and a retreval flight to/from G-0799 (aka C068W), the location of FORT BIFROST. NB: the XAD1471 system will only function during a standard Gate cycle period (circa 3 days in 60), and require circa 24 hours of pre flight charging. The Ground Crew can then force the Gate to open to G-0799 and RGHQ-51 respectively. It can only be safely used by prior arrangement at a specified time or when the inter-planetary comunications systems are working adequately, so that an authorised request by the off-world team can be processed to activate the Gate and open the iris to ensure a safe landing. A 35+ minute window of opportunity is required in the natural Gate cycle to allow for flight time, and the earlier the Gatewatch crew are advised of an intended launch or recovery mission the safer it will be for the SG team. NB: the short notice given by the Engineers, did result in losses. During Operation Winchester BIFROST must be reconnoitred, and the work of the Engineers assessed for the purposes of developing the base in future cycles.
END OF SPECIAL ORDERS
Notes: All times in this table are in ZULU Time, for UK winter time. Please be aware that friendly forces off world, maybe operating in a different time zone. Gate activation entries shown in red were NOT used during this operation.

Issued: @15:00Z 08/01/2008 Unusually CON-72, and it's British contingent serving under the title OPERATION LOSECOAT FIELD codename, is the first Expeditionary Operation for 2008, as CON-71 (OPERATION MONS GRAUPIUS in the UK) had to be replaced by a Service Operation, due to the Gate system remaining inactive, providing no opportunities to launch missions, not even to C068W (Fort Bifrost), as consequentially the AD1471 could not be engaged through the narrow band wormhole. NB: the operational name of "MONS GRAUPIUS" is available for you to reassigned to a later Expeditionary Operation at your desgression.
Regarding the absence of the afore mentioned Expeditionary Operation, it should be noted that the annual cycle was believed to have stabilise from 2002 onwards with CON-036 OPERATION EDGE HILL 06/28-30, in to the present pattern of circa four usable wormhole activity cycles only roughly occuring in the second half of the calander year, but with what at the time was considered some minor aborations:
However now analysis of the past cycles can be interpretted differently, indeed our current period may in fact be the abaration. 2001 was Sunspot Maximum, which at that time was considered as having been responsible for the reduction in the actual number of viable wormholes in the period 1999-2002 . However the next Sunspot Maximum is not scheduled until circa 2012, and so this factor cannot account for the late commencement of activity in 2008. But, it has been suggested by some of the staff here at GATEWATCH that we may expect an increase in the activation cycle during the inter-maximum years, resulting in more operations being redesignated as Expeditionary, but probably with low mission numbers, but nevertheless occuring in the first half of the calander year, much as in the period 2003-5. This situation may of course be being exasibated by the increase in the uni-directional Graviton Waves detected within all wormholes since CON-56 at OPERATION STALLING DOWN 11/25-27/2005, which may compound the issue in to effecting the normally quiet period at the cusp of the year (December-February). Therefore at this time, it is recommended that all operatives prepare for the possible conversion of at least the normal March/April Service Operation in to a low level Expeditionary one during the 2009 and 2010 tours.
As SSI Inc. remains as the prime contractor for the XAD1471 and the new base defense systems their staff have absolute authority during the on-going work on Floor 1 of RGHQ-51. With the exception of the related missions, the Gate Tower is for the duration of this operation strictly off limits to ALL UNMC personnel. Note that with the exception of flights using the XAD1471, only a basic flight service is available for your missions during CON-72. Flight crews MUST take extra special care in the Gate Tower as many systems still remain exposed (6kv) for on-going repairs and the installation work. It is not practical to shut these sub-systems down, as they constitute essential components of the XAD1471 and the Gatewatch systems.
The precautionary principal dictates that CON-72 will be subject to the EXTREME ABC Protection Protocol, as levels are expected to be dangerously high off world. Note that it will be necesary for all exterior gear to be removed for decontamination immediately upon return from off world missions, to ensure personal and collective safety post flight - WITHOUT EXCEPTION! A room has been specially adapted for this purpose. CON-72 will like CON-68 before it conclude with a 10 day mandatory "lock down" pending a full medical and equipment inspection/decontamination at each of our operational facilities. We at Gatewatch apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation in maintaining bio-security.
2. The US CLEGG ("CONTACT Long Endurance Gate Group") program remains suspended, and all recorded team members have been recovered and accounted for. Caution is advised if approached off-world by anyone claiming to be CLEGG team members, as they will probably be compromised, either due to enemy action or as afunction of their initial insertion date.
3. In addition to the strategic objectives established by the current situation, namely, Project Midguard, and the on going issues arising from Fort Apache (VXC105), the recovery of the missing UNMC Engineers from the 51ST Regiment, for enterogation iand processing, s a high priority objective. These 27 personnel remain listed as MIA as of CON-68. The unit's default Authentication Code is "ANGEL", but bearing in mind how long they have been off-world, it is highly unlikely that any of them remain uncontaminated.
4. During the specified times (see chart) of CON-72, the SSI Inc. engineers can, upon receipt of a written authorisation from the base's S3 (Operations Officer), deliver via the authorised channels, i.e. the base's senior Service officer (BGEN Courtney), program the XAD1471 system for a launch and a retreval flight to/from G-0799 (aka C068W), the location of FORT BIFROST. NB: the XAD1471 system will only function during a standard Gate cycle period (circa 3 days in 60), and require circa 24 hours of pre flight charging. The Ground Crew can then force the Gate to open to or from G-0799 and RGHQ-51 respectively. NB: the short notice given by the surviving Engineers (OPERATION WINCHESTER, CON-68), resulted in losses during their return flight.
5. The function and size of FORT BIFROST has been reassessed, and it has been down graded from a Fire Base to a Patrol Base. The clearing originally made for the base, is now going to be developed for agrecultural production of ethonol (aka bio-fuel) for use by Midguard. This means that the workload in it's development will be much reduced, as the agrecultural element will not be our responsibility. However Ft. Bifrost's construction is now to proceed with concealment as the prerequisit feature. A second smaller complex serving as a back up outpost within UHF radio range of Ft. Bifrost, is also to be constructed. In addition a set of entirely new Patrol Bases, one per Spline, is also to be built. Completion has been scheduled for no later than 05/15/2009, location TBA. Therefore all recon missions must incorporate a survey of potential sites during future operations, until as such time a location or locations are selected.
6. With reference to the unauthorised message tagged to the computer readable edition of the GATEWATCH report for OPERATION WINCHESTER (CON-68), it has as yet not been possible to locate it's point of entry on to the RGHQ-51 intrenet. This system is a "stand alone" network, and therefore any additions must have been made within the confines of RGHQ-51. ALL personnel are reminded to maintain maximum vigilance with regard to preventing unauthorised access to the base and the use of it's intrenet and other systems. Copy of original text:
Message with implied punctuation and text (lower case) added:
"MESSAGE: WARNING, BE ADVISED that FORT BIFROST is ACTING AS BAIT IN an INTERDICTION MISSION TO BE CONDUCTED BY UNSGC SPECIAL FORCES operating OUT OF THE ALAMO*, FOR (or on behalf of) MIDGUARD DB**. MESSAGE ENDS."
*FYI: Unofficial sources advise that the reference The Alamo, is the Top Secret codename for the US Fire Base, forming part of the Midguard defences, along with Ft. Bifrost. Intel.Evaluation =
B2
**FYI: You are reminded that during the Intelligence Conference it was suggested that the signiture "DB" is possibly a reference to Deep Black, the codename for the suspected informal coalition of terestrial national intelligence assets, who's actions in the past have been both friendly and hostile to the CONTACT program. Their true nature and remit remain unknown at this time, and therefore until we achieve clarity, their actions constitute a clear and present danger to the program, and it's personnel. Their operatives should be treated as hostile combatants, and if possible taken as EPW's for subsequent interrogation.
7. Be advised that Lieutenant Colonel James T. Law has been recalled from his assignment as the Commanding Officer of BASE-56 in New Zealand, to resume his position as the UNSGC Auditor. In which capasity he is being reassigned to RGHQ-51 for the remainder of the current tour, to conduct an investigation of personnel performance, procedures, security, etc., and it is required that ALL RGHQ-51 operatives cooperate with his investigations. An abridged edition of his report will be made available at the next Intelligence Conference, scheduled for 02/13/2009 (CON-075), subject to UNSGCHQ adjudication.
