As we are strictly a not for profit club, we aim to keep costs as low as possible. Much of what we spend is on things such as our third party public liability insurance that gives us access to the site and its services, plus props and other specialist items of group kit. If we were a commercial site, we would be a lot richer, and obviously far more expensive.

We currently run two levels of event, the more expensive high intensity Major Operations, run from within the bunker, with hot food, warm beds, and no rain, well when you are inside that is. And our Combat Readiness Exercises known as Worm Hole Extreme, which are far cheaper, laid back, low intensity, camping in the woods kind of an event, see HERE.  So the costs for our events are as follows:

Fight School Membership

As we are a club, you will first need to join by completing the membership form, and paying the membership fee. We have just two rates for simplicity:

  • £10.00 Standard Rate — for anyone joining between the 1st of January and the 31st of October, and lasting until the 31st of December.
  • £5.00 Reduced Rate — for anyone joining on or after the 1st of November, which lasts until the 31st of December.

All memberships fall for renewal as of the 1st of January of each year, but can be paid at your first event.

No membership, no insurance, no participation.

FYI as mentioned above, we have third party public liability insurance, but this does not include member to member cover.

The object here is to keep costs to an absolute bare minimum. We are charged £5.00 per person by the Bunker, and that is what we charge you, and that's it. So, a Saturday and Sunday's fun in the woods for a total of £15.00 including membership for your first event, and just £5.00 thereafter.

Major Operations:

The cost of these events are divided into two parts;

  • firstly the basic 'Game Fees', covering the essential costs, and
  • the 'Optional Extras', such as food and accomodation.

It is broken down like this to keep things flexible, as a few players can only be on site for part of the event, or they may wish not to stay overnight, or have food.

The total of these two figures, plus membership, is the amount you will need to pay to play.

You may either pay on the day, or book early by sending a £20.00 non-refundable deposit. To encourage the paying of deposits, a discount is offered depending upon when we actually receive it, see below.

The Two Month Discount

With a £20.00 deposit received at least 2 calendar months prior to the date of the event, or at the preceeding event even if it is after the previous deadline, then the total Game Fee will be:

  • £35.00 Total two day game fee. Balance of Game Fee to pay on the day: £15.00.
  • £25.00 Saturday only game fee. Balance of Game Fee to pay on the day: £5.00.
  • £20.00 Sunday only game fee. Balance of Game Fee to pay on the day: £0.00.
  • £0.00 Non-Combatant: no Game Fee.

The One Month Discount

With a £20.00 deposit received at least 1 calendar month prior to the date of the event, the total Game Fee will be:

  • £45.00 Total two day game fee. Balance of Game Fee to pay on the day: £25.00.
  • £35.00 Saturday only game fee. Balance of Game Fee to pay on the day: £15.00.
  • £20.00 Sunday only game fee. Balance of Game Fee to pay on the day: £0.00.
  • £0.00 Non-Combatant: no Game Fee.

On The Door

For payments made thereafter or on the day:

  • £55.00 Total two day game fee.
  • £45.00 Saturday only game fee.
  • £20.00 Sunday only game fee.
  • £0.00 Non-Combatant: no Game Fee.

Optional Extras:

  • £10.00 Indoor accomodation per night.
  • £5.00 Camping per night.
  • £10.00 Dinner: a three course meal, starter, main meal and dessert, complete with tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.
  • £5.00 Breakfast: a full English cooked breakfast, complete with your choice of cerial, tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

Examples:

If you wish to play for two days and a night, complete with indoor accomodation, dinner, and breakfast, the costs work out like this:

1. On the door £80.00.
2. If booked one month in advance with a £20.00 deposit, the total comes to £70.00, of which £50 must be paid on the day. A £10.00 saving.
3. And if booked two months in advance with a £20.00 deposit, the total comes to £60.00, of which £40 must be paid on the day. A £20.00 saving.

Hopefully this will encourage you to send in your £20.00 deposit.

No Game Fees For Non-Combatant Players

We offer a significant discount for non-combatant players, that is for those who, due to disability, health or other reasons, are unable to, or do not wish to, go into the field to participate in combat, and instead spend the entire operation within the walls of the bunker or designated safe-zone when on other sites. Typically they take on the various in-base roles such as Jump Master, Security Guard, Doctor, Intelligence Officer, Quartermaster, or Communications Officer. Thus providing a valued service to the game, and support to the troops in the field, while releasing the NPC's (Non-Player-Characters) for 'other duties'.

To reflect the value of their service, and the fact that this is after all, a combat game, such players only need pay for their food and accomodation. We will cover the "facilities" fee which forms part of the Game Fees, and pays for the use of the bunker itself.

So using the example above the cost of a full event would only be £25.00 for a non-combatant player.

Players with disabilities, health issues etc., often do not know until the day of the event that they are able to play, but if you can let us know in advance it will help. If you can't, just turn up at the door and we'll sort things out there and then. And obviously no deposits are necessary.

Special Events

Some special events are subject to a surcharge to cover their increased costs, for example, additional site fees (when visiting other venues), the group's hiring of unusual equipment, major pyrotechnics, or the inclusion of a Regimental Dinner. Players on our email group will be advised well in advance of an event about any additional fees.

Spare Kit & Munitions

If you need the loan of a protective mask for the event, there is no additional charge. We do not hold stocks of loan costumes, weapons etc., but members will lend out their own spare kit to new players if requested in advance, on the understanding that "if you break it, you've bought it".

Usually, items such as pyrotechnics, ammunition and other supplies (badges, medal ribbons etc.) are normally available on site at very low prices for our members.

As a new player you will also be lent the other necessary safety kit, and in-game props like bandages, for your first event, so it will not cost you anything extra just to try the game out.

Snacks & Alcohol

If in addition to the dinner and breakfast that is included, you wish to purchase extra snacks from the bunker's own Mess Hall, it is open for business between 10:00 ~ 16:00.

Tea, hot chocolate and coffee are free outside of the bunkers public opening hours. But between 10:00 ~ 17:00 they must be purchased as per the public.

You can buy sandwiches, rolls, cakes, biscuits, chocolate, crisps, and the hot soup of the day. Plus ice cream, cold cans and bottled water etc.

There is also chilled beer and wine on sale, for end of the day consumption ONLY, but most people bring their own. Guns and alcohol do not mix, so we always have time set aside at the end of the day, prior to retiring to bed for a bit of socialising.

These extras can be bought both all night as well as all day, so you will not starve, unless you want to!

Please note that events like this require a great deal of preplanning, and we cannot take on new players who just turn up on the day unannounced, expecting to play, be accomodated and fed. We can handle a small number at short notice, meaning 3~4 new people with a phone call on the Friday of the event, which will enable us to alert the staff of the bunker that we will need extra food etc., for larger numbers we need at least a week.
